The Romantic Museum (Barranquilla Museo Romántico)
The Museo Romántico de Barranquilla is the best museum of the city helping you understand Barranquilla’s history and culture.
The Museo Romántico is located in what was once the home of the U.S. consul. Despite its name, the museum is not about romantic items or stories, it is more like a history book about the city or Colombia in general with items like Simón Bolívar’s letters or the Gabriel García Márquez typewritter.
There’s a large section dedicated to the Carnaval with the costume of the very first Queen in 1918.
The Museo Romántico is located on Carrera 54, No 59-199.
It opens from Monday to Friday from 9am to 11:30am and from 2:30pm to 5:30 pm.
Entry to the museum costs 5,000 per adult and 3,000 for kids and students.
